PERSONALS (Continued from Page 1) AFB, San Antonio, Texas. Miss Betty Carol Sample, 5069 West 11th St. entertained with a Bridal Shower, March 1 for Mrs. Robert Mitchell (the former Starr Collins). The color theme was carried out in pink and white. A wagon, decorated with pink and white crepe paper, full of gifts, was pulled in front of the bride to open. She received many beautiful gifts. Miss Sample served pink and white refreshments, including a beautifully decorated cake. Those attending were: Starr Mitchell, Mesdames Peggy Arnold, Mazel Tuttle, Peggy Whisman, Helen Collins, Betty Sam-
pie, Misses Gloria Johnson, Lynda Long, Sandy Wysong, Karen Richardson, Drucilla Clayton, Susie Thompson, Diana Arnold, Maryann Dobson, Judy Searles. Muriel Davis is now enrolled for the Spring Term at the University of Illinois where she is majoring in dance. Last week Muriel made movies at the LU. Campus which will be shown next Saturday, March 14th on WTTV at 3 o’clock. These movies pertain to gymnastics and Muriel will be interviewed at that time.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Livingston journeyed to Xenia, Ohio, last Sunday where Jack was to call a Square Dance. They were pleasantly surprised by about 100 of their local friends who made the trip to qualify for the Square Dance group called the Knotheads. Two Speedway students have been appointed to committees for the annual all-student “LU. Sing” to be in April at Indiana University. They are Marcia Edwards, 4971 W. 15th, program, and Sandra Manion, 1719 Christopher Lane, art, both freshmen. The “Sing” is sponsored by the YWCA and YMCA and is a competitive event between men’s and women’s housing units. The theme this year is “Moods in Music.” Cindy Lu Rumple, a fourth grade pupil at the Newby School, received some valuable first-hand information on how our state legislature operates. She served as Senate Page in the 91st Session of the Indiana General Assembly. During the morning session she was the page chosen to be interviewed by a local radio station. Cindy Lu wishes more boys and girls could have his opportunity. It was a very rewarding experience.
