TOWN TOPICS (Continued from Page 1) We are pleased to have Lawrence aboard. A Municipal utility offtimes accumulates surplus funds. This is especially true in all Bond Sinking Funds where a per-cent of monthly revenue is set aside to pay bond and interest redemption semi-annually. The Town Board has approved the purchase of $90,000 worth of 80 day U. S. Government notes. The 80 day notes will be redeemed prior to the bond and interest due date. The Northwest District sanitary sewer has not yet been accepted. Still too much infiltration. New equipment has been ordered to make street signs and markers. All old signs will be renewed or replaced. A new police patrol car has been ordered from HooverHunt Ford, Inc., Lebanon, Ind. The State Board of Tax Commissioners has Approved the 1959 town tax levy as follows: General Fund, .90 cents; Street Fund, .18 cents; Bond Sinking Fund, .07

It is interesting to note that 87 work orders were issued in 1958, indicating that someone either moved in or out of a house in Speedway. Most of these orders were on new properties in Meadowood Addition. In all things, success depends upon previous preparation. So says Confucius. J. W. Baxter
