WFBM NEWS Kenneth Mayer, one of the top newscasters in the country, has joined the staff of WFBM as manager of news for WFBM-Radio and Television, Eldon Campbell, General Manager announced. He replaces George Morrison who has resigned, effective November 21. Mr. Morrison will announce his future plans within a few weeks. Mayer comes to Indianapolis from WCAU-Radto and Television, Philadelphia, where he was a featured news commentator for the past four years. With a reputation for fast, accurate and impartial reporting, the forty-year-old Mayer will bring nearly twenty years of radio and television news experience to viewers in Indiana.

The new manager of- WFBM news began his broadcast experience in 1939 with radio stations in the New England area and soon turned to news as a specialized field. His excellence in this field brought him the singular honor of being chosen to represent the eastern portion of the country in Voice of America broadcasts. Mayer is married and will soon move to Indianapolis with his wife Elizabeth and two children, Stephanie Ann, 11 and Garry, 8. He will assume his new duties on November 17, 1958.
