Speedway Little League Football Last Thursday evening the Cardinals moved across town to play the Tabernacle Panthers in a good hard fought game. In spite of six Cardinal fumbles, the outstanding defensive play of the Cardinals held the Panthers well in check without a serious scoring threat. Passing of Donny Wolfla to Johnny Allen and the running of David White were key plays in the Cardinals* 7th straight victory, a 19 to 0 win. TD’s by Wolfla to Allen, White and Wagner (intercepted a pass and returned 45 yards for the score). PAT by White. Last Saturday the Cardinals downed the Lions 28 to 0. Good offensive play and defensive play led to this victory. Key defensive tackles were made by White, Wagner, Aust and Jaimet. The line play of guards Billy Aust and Mike Jaimet was outstanding again for this game as it was all year. Touchdowns were made by Wagner—2; Webb, and Wolfla to Allen. PAT’S by White, Wagner and Webb—2. The Cardinals ended the season with 8 wins, no defeats and no ties. Only one touchdown was scored against them this season. Congratulations, Cardinals, on a job well done. Tomorrow night, the Intermediate AU Star Team will play the sth-6th grade Tabernacle team there at 7:00 p.m. The Tabernacle field is located at 34th and Central. Come out and cheer for the boys.
