SPEEDWAY CHRISTIAN CHURCH (Continued from Page 1? presentation of the play, “190,000 Thanks.” YOUTH COUNCIL meeting is scheduled for next Sunday evening from 5:30 to 6:30. FIRESIDE CHATS for the Senior Hi Bible Study will be held at the home of Dee Swords, 1674 Cunningham, next Sunday (October 26) at 7:00 p.m. Be sure and bring your bibles. John Andrae will lead the discussion. OBSERVATION CLASSES to begin Thursday, October 29th and continue each Thursday through November 26th. These classes are for nursery and kindergarten church school teachers from churches in the west side area and are interdenominational. Several of our own children will be participating in some of the classes. Our church, as hostess, is happy to welcome these church school workers. JUNIOR HI SKATING PARTY. Remember, tomorrow night (Friday) is the date of the skating party at Melody Skateland. Anyone needing a ride should call Mrs. Briggs, CH. 4-5739. She has also requested that all money and unsold tickets be turned in to her by tonight (Thursday), please! CHRISTIAN LITERATURE WEEK will be observed in our church beginning next Sunday. There will be a book display in the narthex and Mrs. Clarice Davis will be on hand if you wish to buy or order any books. CHOIRS. Wednesday—Men’s Chorus, 7:00 p.m.; Chancel Choir, 8:00 p.m. Thursday—Children’s Chorale, 3:15; Chapel Choir, 7:00; Cloister Choir, 8:00. TRICK OR TREAT! Our Junior and Senior Hi young people will be knocking at your door Halloween—but not for the usual trick or treat. They will be accepting contributions for the United Nations Children’s Fund which provides food and drugs for children around the world. They will be wearing tags with the Fund symbol. OFFERING ENVELOPES. The church offering envelopes for the new church year beginning November Ist are in the narthex of the church. If you have not already done so, will you please pick yours up next Sunday? Or, if you have been overlooked, will you let us know and we will furnish you with yours. DISHES AND PANS which have been left at the church at various times have been placed on the east cabinet of the kitchen. Everything not picked up by November 10 will be given away, so will you check to see if any belong to you?
