Speedway Little League Football (Continued from Page 1) Grove last Tuesday night and will play Mooresville there next Tuesday night at 6:30. Immediately following this game (Approx. 7:30) the Speedway and Mooresville freshmen teams will play. In the beginners league, the Lions showed a lot of improvement in defeating the Bears 20 to 0. TD’s were made by Dave Bennett—2 and Steve Schein. PAT’S by Cantwell and Bennett. The Cardinals scored in the second quarter and added the PAT to wiq over the Packers 7 to 0. Wolfa got the TD, Webb the point after. The entire game was a battle of defense. Both teams were extremely sharp at diagnoing and stopping the offense. Geiman, Fisher, Hoffman and Ehlebracht were defense bulwarks for the Packers. The Cardinals have not allowed any of their opponents to score against them and haven’t given up a single first down. The results of the Intermediate league games were as follows: The Eagles defeated the Blue Rams 21 to 6. Roach got 2 TD’s and 2 PATs. Murphy got the other TD and PAT. The fact that Laughlin completed 3 out of 4 passes to Murphy helped the Eagles scoring attempts. Penn was tough on defense for the Eagles. The Rams scored when Feely passed in the flat to Luca who then ran 62 yards for the TD. The Sparks slipped by the Colts with a 13 to 6 score. Smith and Hubbard each got a TD. Stovall added the PAT. Phillips scored for the Colts an o rollout reverse and Matthews made the PAT. It was a very hard played game, both teams playing very good ball. The Green Devils lost to Municipal Gardens 7 to 0 when the Gardens scored from a very wen executed reverse from a “T” formation.
