If you have not made plans to Attend, get yourselves busy, don your buttons and bows and tuck your box under your arm and head for the club October 11. Oh yes, make sure your best beau is there to bid on it! Mark your calendar for Tuesday, October 7, this is the date set for the first luncheon and card party. A buffet luncheon will be served between 12 and 1, and cards of your choice win follow. Reservations may be made through Mrs. Sue Whitmore, CH. 4-1243. Admission wilTbe by ticket only which are $1.50 each. Insure yourself of a table, make your reservation now.
Registration for Gym and Swim classes were made on September 29 and 30. Classes for Gym will be held each Monday and Wednesday during the weeks of October 6 through December 10. Members win be charged $7.00 and non-members SB.OO. Those needing babysitters win be happy to learn at the nominal cost of $2.00 their youngsters Will be in good hands for the entire twenty lessons. Barbara Drinkwater of Butler will return to give the instruction. Those wishing to take swimming lessons may register on Thursday, Oct. 2 if a beginner, and on Friday, Oct. 3 if advanced. Classes win be held at the I. U. Medical Center, and a membership fee is required which win cover the lessons, use of their pool and instructions from our own Club Manager Jim Clark. The new Lyndhurst Bowling Alley Doors will swing open for the Club Teams this month, and Chairman Vi Butler says there are a few openings. Those wishing to enter call her at CH. 4-5108 or Barbara Link at CH. 1-2354. Free bowling lessons and babysitting provided.
A nice turnout at the last dance was reported by Square Dance Chairman Ray Brown, however, he says there is room for more squares. The lessons being given by John Wykoff are in progress and doing fine. The next dance will be Oct. 4 with Gabe Owens calling the Doosey Does. Big things are in the offing for the kiddies according to Chairman Tom Hanna. Plans for the Halloween Party which will be held on Oct. 26 from 2 till 4, are progressing nicely. This will be held for members only, and for fourth grade and tinder youngsters. There will be lots of prizes awarded. The Record-spinning, Cartoonshowing, Square-dancing party held for the 5 and 6 graders was a huge success. Committee Chairman Mrs. Everitt Robins reports that such a goodly number turned out, it will be necessary to divide the groups and the next party will be held on separate nights, fifth one, sixth graders the other. Square dance lessons by Helen Leonard commence Oct. 18, 1:30-2:30 p.m. 10 lessons for $5.00, non-members $5.50. Call Mrs. Robins for further information. The 7 and 8 graders have been having a hilarious time reports Chairman Mary Richwine. The ‘Record Library’ is building up rapidly. Johnny Black has been engaged to give Ballroom lessons starting Oct. 6. You may register on Oct. 5, hours 3-5, freshman are invited. Their next party will be held on Oct. 18. The Canteeners resumed their regular jute-box dancing last week after having had their Scotch-Record-Spinning Party the previous week. The party was especially successful due to participation of The Singing Sweethearts of Speedway and guitarolaying Lloyd LaMore. Cathedral vas honored, and canteen members who are students there were ntroduced. Tech is the honor chool next week, Speedway on let. 8 and Washington Oct 15. Canteen hours will be 7:30-9 p.m., fast time.
