to further evaluate the efficiency and performance of the four 3750horsepower Allison Prop-Jet engines and four-bladed Aeroproducts Turbo-Propellers. The interior of the 450 mph transport also is trimmed in blue and white and includes 20 passenger seats and a six seat lounge at the rear of the plane. Normal airline seating capacities of the jet-age transport vary from 66 to 98 passengers. Data obtained from flights conducted from Weir Cook Municipal Airport at Indianapolis will be coordinated with Lockheed flight engineering to speed certification by the Civil Aeronautics Administration targeted for August 22. Four other Allison-powered Electras have been amassing air time since the first plane flew last December 6, nearly two months ahead of schedule. Fourteen world airlines have announced orders totaling 151 for America's first Prop-Jet commercial transport, scheduled to enter passenger service this fall. Indiana Central News Indiana Central College announced today the establishment of a Regional Center of Industrial Relations in cooperation with the University of Chicago. The center is to be established to offer research, attitude and aptitude surveys, neuropsychological testing, and educational programs for local industry. One of the primary purposes of the program will be to bring about closer cooperation between the college and industry in an attempt to meet some of the critical political, social, and operational problems facing management today. The Industrial Relations Center of the University of Chicago was established in 1945 and now is one of the most extensive centers of its type in the country. Indiana Central College, through this affiliation, will bring to local business and industry the advantages that have secured from years of research with the nation's largest firms. Liberal Arts Appointments Two new members have been named to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences faculty at Butler University by Dr. M. O. Ross, university president. They are Dr. Donald J. Air Force Appointments Two United States Air Force officers have been assigned to the Butler University AFROTC Detachment Staff, Lt. Col. Alex Jamieson, Professor of Air Science, announced. They are Capt. William R. Harper and Capt. Edwin L. Phillips. They replace Major Robert Taylor, who was assigned by the USAF to Japan and Capt. Arden Wisler, transferred to Alaska. Captain Harper is a graduate of Butler University and George Washington High School in Indianapolis. His last assignment was at Tachikawa Air Force Base near Tokyo, Japan. Captain Phillips was last stationed at Sculthrope Air Base, Norfolk, England. He is a graduate of the University of Houston.
