Allison Elementary School was recently awarded a First Class Commission by the State Department of Public Instruction. The report especially commended the administration and teaching staff and also pointed out that the school was wellequipped with instructional materials and supplies. All three elementary schools and the high school in Speedway have a First Class Commission. In addition the high school is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.
Bids were opened September 11 for Unit A of the Frank H. Wheeler School to be built in the Meadowood Addition of Speedway.
