West YMCA Schedules Weekend At Camp Flat Rock The weekend of Sept. 6 and 7 has been taken by the Westside YMCA for an overnight camping trip for children ages 9 to 14. The boys and girls will leave on Sat., Sept. 6 at 1:00 p.m. and return Sunday at approximately 4:00 p.m. Program will include swimming in Flat Rock’s new pool, hiking, boating and canoeing, fishing, and games. As only a limited number of reservations are available please register your child by Wed., Sept. 3. Each child should bring bedding (sheet, pillow, and 2 blankets), warm clothing, and personal athletic equipment, ball glove, fishing pole and swim suit. The $3.50 charge includes transportation and three meals. Reservations may be made by calling the Westside YMCA at CHapel 1-9313 or by visiting the “Y” at 605 S. High School Road. Y.W.CJL Decentralized Program This Fall Women of Indianapolis and Marion county will have an opportunity to participate in a varied program this Fall when the Central YWCA will sponsor a decentralized program at LyndMoor Trailer Park clubhouse, 3000 South Lyndhurst Drive. Classes in exercise to music, beginning typing, sewing, first aid, and “You At Home” will be offered. Beginning September 23, each activity will continue for an eight week period. The “You At Home” course will include hair styling, clothing, modeling tips, make-up, cake decorating and salad preparation. Woman's Auxiliary Sahara Grotto The Annual Homecoming Dinner and Past Presidents Day, of the Women’s Auxiliary of Sahara Grotto is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Grotto Clubhouse, 4107 East Washington St. Those in charge of the dinner will be the following: Mrs. Ruth Durham, refreshments; Mrs. Charles P. Beckham, dining room; Mrs. W. R. Henkel, decorations and Mrs. R. M. Manker, hospitality. Mrs. Oscar Shake, president, will welcome all past presidents and a short program entitled “Memories” will be presented by the entertainment committee, headed by Mrs. Stanley Bryson. Ballroom dancing lessons will begin Sept. 15th from 8:00 to 9:00 in the club ballroom. There will be a sth and 6th party Sept. 13th from 7:30 to 9:30.
