Ketron, Chairman; Mr. Bruce Hunt, Vice-Chairman; Mrs. Martha Burrous, Secretary. NO TIME FOR GOD? “No time for God? What fools we are . . . As soon to say no time To eat, to sleep, to live, to die. Take time for God, Or a poor misshapen thing you’ll be To step into eternity And say I had no time for Thee! ' —Selected

other tourneys, with several flights in each division. The Chess Tourney has been in progress this week and a large group of boys have been playing. We are surprised at the number of youngsters who play chess skillfully here in Speedway. It is a good game and one that everybne will enjoy after they master the rules. Jim Richwine won another gold cup by winning the Chinese Checker Tourney last week. The winners were as follows: Div. I Jim Richwine Ist and Les Potter 2nd; Div. ll—Joey DeLisle Ist and Mike Hackett 2nd; Div. 11l Linda Hackett Ist and Kenneth Albers 2nd.
More than 100 youngsters listen to the Story Hours on Wednesday mornings in the Main Park at 9:00 and at Meadowood Park at 10:15. The listeners range in ages from 5 to 13 so plan to have your child attend before the end of the summer. Storytellers for next Wednesday are Paula Nolte, Wanda Miller, Lynda Denman, Patti Scpyhers, Linda Nice, Kit Kirby, Charlotte Raquet, and Miss Middaugh. A large number of people have been using the picnic tables in the Speedway Parks this year. This is an enjoyable place to bring the family in the cooler evening hours and let the youngsters play on the recreation equipment that is provided. If you have not visited the park in the Meadowood Addition lately, you will be surprised at the improvements that have been made and the large number of equipment installations. The use of this play equipment is excellent training in body development for our children.
Three more weeks of the Summer Recreation Program remain before our closing date of August Bth. In this time we shall have a ping pong tourney, a tennis tourney, and another Field Day. If your children have not participated, bring them over to the Main Park during the mornings to find out what activities we have for them. We have had an average of 150 youngsters each day this year. Baseball for boys 6,7, and Bis played every day at 10:00 and is good practice for those who wish to play in “D” ball next year. GOOD RECREATION MAKES GOOD CITIZENS.
