TOWN TOPICS (Continued tram Page 1) that you visit your local merchants. Chances are you can buy the same merchandise at a cheaper price and get your correct change too. Speedway merchants have requested the Board to rescind parking meter restrictions on Saturdays. A study is being made. Findings on a survey of Schloss Home Place Addition, Third, Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Sections, were discussed with Mr. L. I. Couch, Civil Engineer. The tabulation indicated that property owners in the area felt that sewers had been overloaded when a sanitary sewer had been extended to Eight and Ninth Sections. The Board agreed to extend the investigation to the Eigth and Ninth Sections and discuss the situation after the survey was completed.
Sandard Materials Corporation have agreed to reserve material to repair the Cunningham Park Levee. We see in the Indianapolis newspapers where the office of the Army Corps of Engineers in Washington has approved the Towns application for repair of the levee and have allocated $22,000 for the repair. To date the Town Hall has not received any official word. Another letter has gone out to Mr. S. M. Bailey, District Engineer asking for the latest information. Fire Chief Stephens is back on the job after spending two weeks in Florida. The weather was either bad or the ponies were slow, we haven’t seen him smile since he got back. From my clippings: The highest price a man can pay for a thing is to ask for it Wayne Baxter, Town Clerk
