School News (Continued from Page 1) information will be given at the first class meeting. The schedule of classes as planned is: Advanced Clothing, Mondays, Mrs. Lucas. Beginning Typing, Tuesdays, Mrs. Hine. Beginning Clothing, Tuesdays, Miss Pumphrey. Hours for all classes will be 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Classes have been planned *to take care of all persons who sent in slips indicating an interest’in the above courses. If the enrollment in any class is larger than can be accommodated, an attempt will be made to organize another class. If that is not possible, preference will be given to those who sent in slips in response to the survey.

On Monday, February 10, the School Board will take bids on an eight-room addition to be built on the west end of Speedway High School. As indicated in an earlier article this is to take care of immediate needs resulting from the large number of elementary pupils entering the high school each year. It is hoped that this addition can be completed by the middle of the 1958-59 school year. Construction of the additional classrooms does not change the long range plans, which at present are to build a complete high school at a new location and convert the present high school into a junior high school. The rooms to be added now will take care of enrollment problems for the next two or three years and will also eventually be needed if the present high school becomes a junior high school. In the bids to be received Febbruary 10, there will be several items, either in the base bid or on alternate bids, in addition to the eight classrooms. These include a large storage room under the entire structure, elimination of boilers in the Carl G. Fisher Elementary School and the addition of two new boilers in the high school boiler room, communication system in the high school, acoustical treatment of corridors and untreated rooms in the high school, a turn-around and small parking lot at the end of 13th Street, and a small parking lot on the southwest comer of Allison and 14th Streets. This latter item will necessitate the removal of the house on the corner.

Speedway defeated Warren Central 67-51 in the varsity basketball game played at Speedway last Friday. The score was tied at the half, but the Spark Plugs displayed their best offense of the year in outscoring the Warriors 40 to 24 in the last half. Do vitamins stay potent? Vitamin., come lots of ways—powders, liquids, some in pflh, some in capsules. Some must be refrigerated to maintain full strength. Some have limited storage life. Others should not be mixed until just before taking. And so on. We bring all this to your attention because “vitamin preparations’’ are being sold all kinds of ways these days. You hear offers on the air. You see offers in print You even find salesmen ringing your doorbell. For reasons mentioned above, the proper place to obtain vitamin preparations is your registered pharmacy where professional knowledge assures your getting full vitamin value.
