A resume of a visit with Mr. H. J. Lacy relative to the town acquiring property from Mr. Lacy for school activities. The location of the property .being unincorporated but surrounded by the town corporation line, the Board agreed to start proceedings to annex the area. Mr. Bradley read a letter of resignation from Board member Everett Shultz. The resignation was accepted. The contract for collection and disposal of garbage and trash for the years 1958 and 1959 has been awarded to R & R Trucking. A discussion was held concerning a Civilian Defense organization as opposed to Auxiliary Police. No definite decision was made at this time. The pay schedule for the year was approved by the Board. A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Speedway was held on December 9 at 7:15 p.m. This meeting was held to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. Shultz as a member of the Board.
