New Assembly Of God Church Growing We appreciate so very much the kindness shown us in the new effort of starting a new Assembly of God Church in Speedway City. Everyone has been so helpful and kind. Moving here from Terre Haute, Indiana, and being a total stranger, I haven’t felt like one. To you, each of you, we feel so very grateful for all kindnesses shown us. The church is growing. The three Sundays we have had church and Sunday school, the attendance has been 57, 67, and 73. We are hoping to reach 100 this Sunday. If you are not in Sunday school elsewhere, we would like to have you become part of this fast growing Sunday school. We are looking for ground to build in this area; however, until we h3ve a permanent place, we are meeting in the Indianapolis Auto Building, 4300 W. 10th Street. Services each Sunday: Sunday School, 9:45. Worship Service, 10:45. Youth Service, 6:30. Evangelistic, 7:30. Prayer meeting Thursday, 7:30. We extend to each and everyone a very cordial welcome to attend these services. Nolan D. Lee, pastor Castle-Craig Chapter I.T.S.C. Dinner meeting of Castle-Craig Chapter, ITSC, to be held at the home of Mrs. Alberta Nay, 3118 Broadway, Thursday, October 24, at 6:30 p.m. The speaker for the evening will be Mrs. Tom Carnegie, having as her subject “Housekeeping in the White House.”

DEMOLAY SCRAP METAL DRIVE SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9 Town Board Reports (August - September) By Tri Kappa Reporter The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Speedway was held on August 12, 1957. Sealed bids for the remodeling of the park shelter house were opened and read. The proposal of Mr. B. F. Rosner was accepted and the contract was awarded to him. Several citizens living within the recent flooded area were present. A general discussion regarding ways to eliminate flooding in the future presented nothing new. There was also a general discussion regarding water in basements during heavy rainfall in the Norfolk, Beeler, and Christopher Lane area. Residents were assured that a complete survey would be made and relief would be forthcoming. Permission was requested to improve the North side of West 21st Street between Cdle and Main Streets. The developer of the addition located in this area was instructed to proceed according to his improvement agreement. The Clerk was instructed to make a formal request to the Marion County Commissioners to improve Eagle Creek between White River and Road 136. A representative from the Junior Chamber of Commerce asked for permission to solicit information for the purpose of publishing a Speedway directory. It was moved and seconded that Mr. Robert McMahon be reappointed to the Board of School Trustees for a three (3) year term. The motion was carried.
