Junior Red Cross Plans Mock Disaster Believing that “experience is the best teacher,” members of the Marion County Junior Red Cross Disaster Maneuver Committee are planning a mock disaster, called the “Big D,” for Thursday, May 23, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Manufacturer’s Building Annex, Indiana State Fairgrounds. The administration of “Big D,” a mock atomic bombing, is being done by the Marion County Junior Red Cross High School Board, composed of representatives from 29 of the public, parochial, and private high schools in Marion County. David Hargitt, senior at Park High School, is chairman of “Big D” and Mimi Howard, senior at Tudor Hall, is co-chairman. During the mock atomic bombing, the approximately 125 participants will give First Aid and Home Nursing care to victims and will carry out mass feeding, clothing, lodging, registration, recreation, and spiritual guidance functions. Edward Zeige, a pupil at Washington High School, is captain of the spiritual guidance committee. Sparkle-aires present MEDICS AND MERRIMENT May 17, 1957 8:00 pun.
