JORDAN BALLET When the Jordan Ballet and Butler University Symphony Orchestra present an evening of ballet in Manual High School’s Auditorium on Thursday evening, February 7, their Indianapolis audience will be previewing the same program that will be performed for the National Convention of Music Teachers National Association in Chicago on Monday, February 11th, and with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday evening, February 12th. The ballet “JOB,” with music by the contemporary English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, interprets the Old Testament patriarch who underwent so many afflictions with fortitude and faith. The American premier of the ballet version of this work was first performed here last year by the Jordan Ballet with such success that the M.T.N.A. forthwith scheduled it for their national convention this year. Choreography for this work is by Peggy Dorsey. Prokofief s “Peter and The Wolf” has also been performed before by the Jordan Ballet company; with the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra, and for the Ft. Wayne Philharmonic’s Children’s Concert, and the Indianapolis Symphony reception for Izler Solomon. Daniel Ferro is the Narrator for this work. ! The final production on the program will be “Charade,” and impromptu for dancers, with music by Jacques Ilbert. Choreography by David Reynolds.
