All neighborhood fire stations are acting as collection depots for gifts to be given to patients in Marion County’s mental hospitals. This is the sixth annual “Operation Christmas Gift” and gift suggestions can be received from your neighborhood fire station. Above, Mrs. Louis R. Ostheimer, depot chairman, Marion County Association of Mental Health is being assisted by P. W. Ross, Indianapolis Power & Light Company, in putting up the first poster designating a collection depot.
ALLISON MALE CHORUS WILL SING The Allison Male Chorus of 30 voices will open the Celebral Palsey Telethon Saturday night, Dec. 1 at 11 o’clock. They will open the program with “You’ll Never Walk Alone” by Rodgers and Kammerstein. Juanita Harris, their accompanist, will be featured in a piano solo. The chorus will follow with “Daddy’s Little Girl” with Richard Lewis doing the words and the chorus humming in the background. They will conclude their program with “Your Land and My Land” by Sigmund Romberg. Bob Burford, the conductor of the chorus, also is conductor for the Shrine “Chanters” on Sunday morning. George DeWitt, MC on Name That Tune, will be MC for the Telethon program which will last from 11 o’clock Saturday night until 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Many Speedway men are members of the Allison Male Chorus.

Another evening filled with worship, fellowship, and fun has been planned. SENIOR M.Y.F. will meet at the Church at 6:30 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 2. The Harry Pruitts, the Warren Trammells, and Mrs. Edward Fritz are the splendid adults working with our High School young people every Sunday evening. COLLEGE-AGE FELLOWSHIP will have an organizational meeting at the Parish House Annex at 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 2. At this meeting plans will be made to decorate the exterior of the Church. A wonderful evening of fellowship awaits our college-age young people. This is a very important meeting and we urge everyone of college age to attend: COMMISSION ON EDUCATION will meet on Monday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m., at the Church. COMMISSION ON MEMBERSHIP and EVANGELISM and FRIENDLY VISITORS will meet on Monday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m., at the Church. CRUSADERS CHOIR will rehearse on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 3:15 p.m., at the Church. SENIOR M.Y.F. will meet at the Church at 6:30, Wed., Dec. 5, for the swimming party. The WOMAN’S SOCIETY OF CHRISTIAN SERVICE will meet Wednesday, Dec. 5, promptly at 7:15 p.m., at the Church. Following the business meeting, the White Gifts for Wheeler Mission will be dedicated by Rev. Wright. The program will be given by the Children’s Choirs at 8:00. Felicity Circle will be the hostess. CHANCEL CHOIR will rehearse on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m., at the Church. FELLOWSHIP AND INSTRUCTION CLASS FOR INCOMING MEMBERS will be held on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m., at the Church. Persons interested in uniting with our fellowship with the December Class of New Members on Sunday, Dec. 9, are asked to attend. - The METHODIST MEN’S CLUB has designated Sunday, Dec. 9 as “Food for the Lebanon Home” Day. All church members and friends are asked to bring canned goods to either service. The food will be taken to the Methodist Orphans Home in Lebanon, Indiana. SACRAMENT OF INFANT AND CHILDREN’S BAPTISM will be observed at the 11:00 o’clock worship service on Sunday, Dec. 23.
