ST. CHRISTOPHER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH (Contlnuea rrom Page 1) non-Catholics will be much appreciated. Every penny earned in this way helps toward the new Church. Thanks. The Big Event of the Week—the ANNUAL TURKEY DINNER AND FESTIVAL—Sunday, November 4. Dinner served cafeteria style 12:30 to s—Menu elsewhere. Treat yourself to eating out, and again we say, help build our new Church. Thank you again. Everyone is welcome. PECANS! PECANS! Yes, our pecans are beginning to come in. They’re the same as last year—broken halves, but plenty of whole halves to satisfy most cooks—sl.3o per pound. Call Mrs. Wilbur Reidy, CHapel 4-2231, Mrs. Walter Freund, CHapel 4-2384, or Nora Bray (evenings) CHapel 4-0586. We hope to have plenty in to sell Sunday at the Turkey Dinner. Congratulations to Mary and Jim Schneider of 1950 MacArthur Lane. Dan, Tim and Tom are very happy about their brother Jim who was born October 23d about 4 pin. at the Methodist Hospital. He weighed 7 lb. 10 oz. Mary and Jim came home Saturday afternoon. High Masses at 8 o’clock on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings this week were'said for Mary Catherine Hendricks at the request of the family and for William Fogarty at the request of Mr. and Mrs. John Fogarty. It is customary for Catholic people to remember their dead in a special manner during the month of November. Surely with all the war news in our papers each day, we hardly need to say keep the First Saturdays in remembrance and obedience to Our Lady of Fatima in her apparition to the three children. Pray daily the Rosary for peace in the world. And we might add, attend daily Mass, receive daily Holy Communion, offering them all up for peace in the world. .Nora Bray

STRONG BID FOR AYERS (Continued from Page I) and to take the time to plan what he will do if he is elected. His program, the committee explained, is to set into operation a modern plan for road improvement and maintenance; a more efficient system of buying, one that is fair and without favoritism; a dignified and just method of inspection of the County institutions; to help organize and work with community organizations and committees for the improvement of the county; and to cooperate fully with the Metropolitan Plan Commission. They further expain that ore of Mr. Ayers outstanding characteristics is his ability to work with others; either in an executive capacity or in committee functions, which, they feel, is one quality most urgently needed in the position of county commissioner since office harmony and cooperation is essential to the well being of any county administration. The Committee further pointed to his qualifications as an able administrative executive on the basis of his previous experience as a successful food market owner and operator and public servant for over 12 years. A resident of 917 Cameron Street and a life long resident of Marion County he has been active in political and civic activities for the past thirty-two years. He is 53 years old. Presently he is employed in the City Building Commissioner’s Department. He was formerly a member of the Center Township advisory board and was supervisor of plumbing inspectors from 1948 to 1951. He is married and the father of one child. Pd. Adv.
