SPEEDWAY METHODIST CHURCH (Continued from rage 1) which Rev. Wright will speak at both services of worship on Sunday, August 26. Our regular schedule of two morning services, at 9:30 and at 11:00, and two Sunday School sessions for children continues this Sunday. Mrs. Jan Roberts will sing, “Ye Shall Not Sorrow Anymore”—Joy. We’re having a wonderful summer in the life of our Church. A fine enthusiasm and much activity have been evident, Sunday School teachers have been hard at work, most inspirational music has been provided by various members of our excellent Adult Choir, and attendance at morning worship has been at an all-time high for the summer season. You are to be commended for the loyalty and devotion you have shown to Christ and His Church throughout these warm summer months. COMMITTEE ON FELLOWSHIP will meet at the Church on Tuesday, August 28, at 7:00 p.m. COMMITTEE ON TEMPERANCE will meet at the Church on Tuesday, August 28, at 8:00 p.m. ADULT CHOIR REHEARSAL at the Church on Wednesday, August 29, at 8:00 p.m. Any new members welcome. The SIXTH ANNUAL INSTITUTE FOR METHODIST MEN will be held Friday evening through Sunday noon, August 31-Sept. 2, at DePauw University, Greencastle. Plans have been made for our Church to be well represented. Contact Mr. Roy Vehling, CH. 4-4560 or Mr. Cletis Jenkins, CH. 4-9442 for full particulars. x WHY DO I GO TO CHURCH? Because I feel that it is my duty to go? Because my presdhce will be noticed by my friends? Because the minister and officers expect me to attend the services of worship? Because I have no other engagements scheduled for this hour? Because it’s a habit I’ve followed from childhood, Because my conscience will not accuse me when I invite others to come to church this week, / Or do I go because Christ bids me go to his house of worship, and my heart tells me that I need what he has promised to give?
