Mattress Filling

Comfort of solid-filled mattresses depends chiefly upon the filling. Long-fibered cotton felted into layers is the best type of cotton filler. Cheaper fillings of short cotton fibers tend to mat down and develop lumps and depressions. Hair makes a good mattress for those who prefer firm beds. Horse tail and cattle tail are best, with horse mane second.

We were happy to welcome into our membership last Sunday, Mr. Don Haase of 3534 W. 12th Street; and Mr. Malcom Host, of 5003 W. 14th Street. Plans are under way for our YOUTH SUNDAY observance, January 29th. This is sponsored by our three youth organizations, the Junior Hi, Senior Hi, and Older Youth. Representatives of each of the groups, with their superintendents, met at the home of Mr. Floyd Troth last Monday evening. Mr. Troth is the adult advisor of our Youth Council. We are very much indebted to the Dorcas Circle, and to Mrs. Titus Huber, for the red and gold cords that are to reserve special sections of our Sanctuary. They were used for the first time last Sunday morning at the second service. Many thanks for a very thoughtful and practical project.
