Pike led at the end of the first half, but the Spark Plugs came back to win 71-60. The reserves lost by a 35-31 score. Other basketball scores during the past week were Speedway Freshmen 24, Washington Freshmen 20; Seventh Grade 43, Crooked Creek 47; Eighth Grade 31, Crooked Creek 35.

LIBRARY NOTES The Library is open evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 Monday through Thursday for public usage. Mrs. Martin Stonebraker is in charge. Last week this- column carried the names of the students in grades 9 through 12 who are assisting with the many library routine tasks. To that group should be added the name of Tom Cotton, who this year is handling overdue slips. Carding and shelving books usually is assigned to 7th and Bth grade students. Returning >2OOO books per month to the proper place on the shelves is a considerable task, and the student assistants are doing well. Eighth grade assistants are: Carol Lampman, Sandy Scyphers and Jean Ann Thompson. Seventh grade assistants are: Debra Burcham, Dennis Burcham, Carol Calvin, Paula Cool, Cynthia Dietrich, Phyllis Duffield, Gyneth Everhart, Jacqueline Gastineau, Ruth Haettinger, Judy Hubbard, Susan Hunter, Judy Kelly, Carole Mace, Carlos Torrella and Jan Updike.

ADULT CHOIR will rehearse at the Church on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 7:45 p.m. ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY, Thursday, Dec. 15, 5:30 p.m. This is the big social event that our people anticipate. Each family is asked to bring a covered dish and a salad or a dessert. Turkey, drinks, and rolls, will be furnished by members and friends of the Comm, on Education. Following the “PitchIn” dinner and Santa’s appearance, we will proceed to the sanctuary. Children of the Jr. Sunday School, assisted by the Intermediate Youth Choir, will present a short Christmas play, “Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room.” Sunday evening, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. CHRISTMAS CANDLE-LIGHT MUSICAL CANTATA. A 60-voice choir, including our Adult Choir, Intermediate Choir, and Junior Choir, will present a beautiful and long-to-be remembered hour of Christmas music. Everyone is cordially invited. Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 11:00 p.m. In the beauty of the candle-lit sanctuary, assisted by the lovely Christmas music presented by the Adult Choir and the beautiful carols sung by the congregation, the minister will tell the Christmas Story in a special Christmas Eve Service.
