CLERMONT W.S.C.S. The W.S.C.S. of Clermont Methodist Church was held at the church October 19. After a dessert luncheon, Mrs. David Killion, the president, presided at the business meeting. Miss Mary Mayer was in charge of the program. Mrs. Earl Harsh gave the spiritual devotions. Mrs. Gilbert Wilkerson gave a short talk on the United Nations after the lessons on Indian American was given by Mrs. Otis Dowden. Rev. Hedden finished the program with a prayer.

SPEEDWAY CHRISTIAN CHURCH (Continued from page 1) Mr. Dale Cassidy will be the soloist for both services Sunday. The Children’s Chorale will sing for the 9:00 service, and the Angelus Choir will sing for the 10:35 service. The minister will preach the sermon at both services on the subject, “The Enemies of Jesus.” The Chancel bouquets for next Sunday will be presented by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clegg in memory of Mr. Clegg’s father; and Mr. and Mrs. Burdell Scott. The Older Youth Class will meet as usual at 10:00 A.M. at the Parsonage with Mai Host teaching, next Sunday. The Senior Hi Class will meet at Heisers each Sunday morning at 10:10 A.M. with Gene Hagerty teaching. The Young Settlers will meet in Fellowship Hall Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. for a pitch-in dessert. Bring own service for your family, and coffee and soft drinks will be furnished. There will be a family film, and cartoons for the children. DORCAS CIRCLE will meet Tuesday evening at 7:30 P.M. in the home of Mrs. Elmer Emigholz, 5106 W. 22nd Street, with Mrs. Omar Lambert assisting. Mrs. Titus Huber will give devotions and Mrs. Kenneth Thorne will present the program, “Disciples of Christ and Indian Americans.” EVENING CIRCLE will meet with Mrs. George Harvey, 1744 Beeler Street, Tuesday evening, November Ist, at 7:45 P.M. Mesdames Harry Elder and Wayne Burdge will assist the hostess, and Mrs. Martin Stonebraker will give devotions. Mesdames J. D. Sauter, Lewis Hoerger and Lillian Lee will take us on “A Visit to Yakima” which promises to be most interesting. Bring your White Gift and Cleveland Christmas Stocking. KEZIA CIRCLE will meet in Fellowship Hall Tuesday evening, November Ist, at 7:30 P.M. with Mrs. Evelyn Laughlin as chairman. The new offering envelopes for the coming fiscal year will be available in the Narthex next Sunday. They are placed on tables in alphabetical order, and if you have not already done so, if will be appreciated if each member will pick up his envelope, thus saving the necessity of mailing later. CHRISTIAN LITERATURE WEEK. Each year Protestant churches throughout the country celebrate this week in order to bring before their members a selection of fine books. This coming Sunday, October 30th, there will be a book display for young and old in the Narthex of the church. Novels, children’s books, inspirational books and others are all represented. You may buy or order these books from Mrs. Hagerty. Books make fine gifts and remember “You Are What You Read.” Candy making time is here! Any donations of sugar, nuts, eggs, or money, will be appreciated and may be given to either Chris Hawkins or Mrs. Thorne. This is for our boys overseas, and we will start making the candy the first of November as it must be mailed by November 15th. Mr. Floyd Troth has accepted the position of Youth Representative on the Education Committee. He will also be the Adult Advisor to the Youth Council, a committee made up of young people representing each youth group and class in our church. The members of the Junior Hi C.Y.F. wish to thank their parents and teachers for the hayride last Saturday evening. A good time was had by all. A special Education Committee meeting has been called for Monday, October 31st, at 7:30 P.M. in the Golden Rule Room. All members are asked to be present.
