ST. CHRISTOPHER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH (Continued from page 1) days, or Sundays too, Nora Bray. Turkeys have been ordered . . . everything is being planned . . . for what? For the TURKEY DINNER at St. Christopher, Sunday, November 6th. Let’s make this a gala day, everybody come and eat at St. Christopher. Father Lindemann spent a couple days last week with his mother. Although she is in her nineties, her health is still very good. Who won in the Merchandise Club last Sunday? Well, it was Mrs. Ann Martich over on Presto Street. Helen Elaine Gordon who is 8 years old and attends the third grade at St. Christopher school chose Ann for the winner. Helen looked mighty fetching in a red coat with a blacket velvet collar and blacket velvet hat. She is the daughter of Rose and Myron Gordon and lives cn Winton Avenue. Next Monday is Halloween . . . yes, but it is far more to us, it is the vigil of All Saints, and it is a day of fast for those of the age obliged to fast. Tuesday is All Saints, a Holy day of Obligation. Time of Masses, 6, 7:30 and 9 in the morning and at 7 and 8 in the evening. Confessions will be heard as usual. Wednesday is All Souls. On this day, as on Christmas, every priest is permitted to say three Masses. The time of these Masses will be announced Sunday. On Friday, Holy Communion will be received as on outward expression for our love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus . . . First Friday, Saturday is First Saturday. On Wednesday evening next week at 8 o’clock Mesdames Kay Eddleman and Mary Rosner will be co-chairmen for the regular monthly Altar Society Meeting. Serving on the committee with Kay and Mary are Mesdames Agnes Zeunik, Patricia Vogel, Julia Miller, Sharon Carroll, Mary rfoffskey, Sophie Ahart, Dolores Riczo, Mary Meyers, Georgette Bische, Frances Wells, Elabel Coppock, Eileen Melton, Dory Grande, Nola Medenwald, Catherine Burton, Gracebelle Weber, Mary Agnes Glass, June DeWeese, Katherine Crehan, Mary M. Glass, Jeanne Knight, Catherine Wolfe, Marjorie Alderson, Margaret Lawrence, Lillian Reihman, Judith Chapman, Marie Doran, Mary Ferguson, Kathleen Doyle, Elizabeth Slattery, Hilda Torella, Mary Culbertson, Susan Whitmore, Barbara Rosner, Fonna Childs, Romona Jarman and Midge Glass. Every lady member of St. Christopher and the ladies whose husbands are members of St. Christopher are urged to come, attend the meeting and stay for the social fun. Some outstanding collection and crafts were displayed by the children of St. Christopher school at their Hobby Show. In judging last Saturday, the judges endeavored to help them make even better ones next year by adding helpful notes and suggestions on the entry blanks of each child. One collection we missed was a collection and study of birds, maybe done in small pictures by states in a scrap book. It would seem that this would be very interesting especially for boys. Blue ribbon winners will take their collections and crafts to the CYO Hobby Show and then out to the Hobby Show at the Fairgrounds November 12 through 20th. Pray daily your Holy Rosary for peace in the world. Nora Bray
