Jordan College Baton Twirling School To Open The annual baton twirling school sponsored by Butler University’s Jordan College of Music will open on the Butler campus on Aug. 7 and continue through Aug. 12. Instructors will be Merle and Margaret Smith, nationally recognized instructors from Valparaiso, and Duke Miller of Phoenix, Ariz. Instruction will be offered for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. One of the School’s highlights will be a variety show by all students in the Butler Fieldhouse. Out-of-town students will be housed in the new Men’s Residence Hall, while local students will commute from their homes. Enrollment information may be obtained from Butler University or its Jordan College of Music.

SIGHT PROTECT IT Evary 24 minutes someone in this country goes blind. It adds up to 22,000 a year. Half of these individuals could have retained their sight, considering that medical science now has the knowledge to prevent at least one out of every two cases of blindness. Such knowledge is worthless unless it is put to use. Children, for intance, seldom complain about poor vision because they don’t know how well they ought to see.
