If any readers wish to voice an opinion, please contact the bus company, “Indianapolis Railways, Inc.” Due to the fact that they have a monopoly on public transportations, their plans will not be too greatly influenced 1 y the Town Board’s opinion. Therefore, contacting individual Town Board members will not help your cause. The\ have already voiced their disapproval of the re-routings, but do agree a change is necessary to better serve the growing community. Mrs. Griffin and Mrs. Gordin, representing the Parent Teacher’s association, discussed methods of improving Traffic Safety. After considerable discussion and taking the matter under advisement for a week, the Police Department has been authorized to employ five people to direct traffic during the school term of 1955 and 1956. A nominal compensation will be paid. A group of citizens living in the area of Lyndhurst Drive and W. 10th St. have requested relief from noises and automobile lights flashing at the Root Beer Stand. Mr. Collins, Town Marshal, was ordered to notify the operator to discontinue the juke box and to plant shrubs along the north property line. Bids on water main extension to Meadowood Addition have been awarded. The Williams Bros. Construction Company was the lowest, but two bids were taken under advisement for one week. However, the final award was given to the above company at the cost of $22,895.75. TJie budget estimate of proposed park expenses for 1956 was taken under advisement after being presented to the Board by Mrs. Barbara Nagle, chairman of the Recreation Board and Mr. Robert McMahon, Board member. At the following meeting the rate was set at $7,880. Mr. Robbins, Street Supt., was instructed to inform the State Highway Dept, that the Town Trustees objected to the use of an existing 30 inch sewer on the north side of W. 16th St. and running east from Georgetown Rd. for sanitary purposes. Mr. Young and Mr. Harman of the State Highway Dept, have informed Mr. Baxter, Town Clerk, that no provisions have been made for installing traffic signals at Winton Ave. or at Lyndhurst Dr. They further reported that if the New York Central Railroad would install flasher signals at their Lyndhurst Drive crossing, the State would install proper automatic signals at the highway intellection. Mr. Risch has been instructed' to proceed with the necessary steps to petition the Indiana Public Service Commission to cause the New York Central to install the flasher signals.

SCHOOL NEWS (Continued from page 1) which will have two classrooms. This will permit children who were in the two first grade rooms at Elementary No. 2 during 195455 to continue at that school during 1955-56. At Elementary School No. 1, 14th Street and Winton, where 17 rooms are available, there will be one kindergarten room, three classrooms each for grades one, three, four, and five, with two classrooms each for grades two and six. It is believed that the above distribution of classrooms provides the fairest possible assignment of pupils although it means in a few cases that children in one family will attend different elementary schools. In the study of the school population it was found that if a division was made at any designated street for all grades it would make an extremely large number in some classrooms with a very small enrollment in others. In the assignment of pupils listed below the boundaries for pupils who will be in grades two through six are the same as for 1954-55. Boundaries for pupils who will be in kindergarten and first grade are somewhat different from last year. Due to the great amount of current home construction in Speedway and the uncertainty at this time of the number of pupils
