Speedway .elementary schools underePrincipals Lincoln Northcott and George McClelland will take part in the Save-The-Chil-dren “Bundle Week” drive to collect used clothing for needy childrive, which is a part of the Thirteenth Annual Children’s Clothing Crusade will take place here on Thursday, December 9. Three million pounds of wearable clothing has been set as the national goal. Last year in the Twelfth National Children’s Clothing Crusade, nearly five million pupils collected a total of 2,700,000 pounds of clothing, approximately five million garments. Clothing collected by the Federation is used to aid needy children and families in Korea, in wardepleted countries of Europe and the Middle East, and in disadvantaged rural areas of the United States. The Indiana Drive is headed by Wilbur Young, State Superintendent of Public Instruction. The Indiana Motor Truck Association is cooperating in this effort by urging member carriers to haul tte clothing, free of charge, to the Federation receiving center in Indianapolis. In Speedway, the drive* will be confined to one day, December 9. Clothing should be taken to school on that day only. Instructions explaining the type of clothing needed will be sent home with each elementary pupil. Clean wearable clothes (including baby clothing), shoes, and blankets are especially needed.
Eight Speedway students will attend the Indiana High School Debaters’ Conference and Legislative Assembly which is to be held at Purdue University on Friday and Saturday of this week. Five will participate in discussions concerning this year’s debate question, attend demonstrations of correct debating techniques, and present two extemporaneous speeches. Ann Brockman, Ronnie Hunt, and Fred Scott will be members of the Legislative Assembly, a group patterned after the Indiana State Legislature. The others making the trip will be Carla Petrovich, Barbara Armantrout, Linda Lindley, Lewis Meier and Tom Riggle. Mr. David Bums will accompany the group. Last Saturday afternoon seven Speedway students participated in the Voice of Democracy radio speech contest sponsored by the Speedway Junior Chamber of Commerce. Ann Lynch was awarded first place and Fred ScotSPsecond place. Other participants were Ann Brockman, Linda Logston, Judy Mayo, Carla Petrovich, and Judy White. * US Speedway varsity and reserves both lost close games to Plainfield last Wednesday night, the varsity by a score of 45-43 and the reserves 29-26. Pike Township will play at Speedway this Friday night.

If airmen re-enlist within 90 days following discharge. If airmen reenlist within 90 days following discharge, they are entitled to a number of beneflflts, according to Sgt. Deffendall. If they wait until after the 90 day period they lose the substantially increased re-en-listment bonus and at least one grade in rank. Air Force personnel believe the trend is due to two things: one,
