given by the local Junior Chamber of Commerce. The public is cordially invited to attend this contest which will be held in Room 215 of the High School. Thirty-two members of the Speedway High School Band attended the Marion County Band Clinic at Lawrence Central High School last Tuesday. The day’s activities were directed by Mr. Joseph Gremolspacher, director of the Indiana State Teachers College Band, and Mr. Al Wright, director of the Purdue University Band. The varsity and reserve basketball teams lost to Brownsburg Friday night as the Sparkplugs met their first Mid-State Conference school. The reserves were defeated 27-23 and the varsity lost 53-39. The Sparkplugs are hosts to a strong Plainfield team tonight (Wednesday). The 7th and Bth grade teams played their first games of the season at Crooked Creek last Tuesday evening. The 7th grade was defeated 33-31 and the Bth grade lost by a score of 55-24. Library Nows The Library will be closed Thursday evening, November 25.
