St. Christopher Cathalie Chwreh (Continued from Page 1) Announcement was made Sunday that there is in the hall a box into which you are asked to place your labels which are to be redeemed by the Food Craft Shop. This project was brought up at the last Altar Society meeting, and while perhaps not great funds may be derived therefrom, every dollar earned will help pay off St. Christopher’s huge debt and future indebtedness. A list of the articles from which labels may be detached is posted in the hall also. The Angers just returned Monday evening from Geneva, New York where they had visited with Mike who is stationed at the Sampson Air Force Base. They report that Mike looks fine and is happy with his work. He wishes to be remembered to all his friends in Speedway. St. Christophers C.Y.O. football team played St. James School Sunday, September 26. St. Christophers was the winner, 13 to 0. Sunday another winner was proclaimed in the Merchandise Club. She was Eileen Besso of Clermont. Mary Sherman in one of those all colorful squaw dresses drew out the lucky name. Mary is seven years old and attends St. Christopher school. She is the daughter of Rose and Vanard Sherman of 2041 Winton Avenue. More gold is needed for the new Chalice, and still more gold. Ask your friends and relatives. Our sympathy to Carl Otte and family. On Thursday night before Labor Day, members of Carl’s family were in a dreadful accident in Indianapolis. His father, one sister and her husband were hospitalized. Helen, another sister, was at Betty and Carl’s home several days. Last Thursday, the sister in the hospital, Mrs. Beckerich died and was buried Tuesday morning of this week. The children of St. Christopher school are selling Christmas cards and Christmas wrappings again this year. This is one of their projects during the year for the purchasing of athletic equipment. There are 21 cards in the box and they sell for SI.OO. The Ave Maria DeLuxe Assortment is worth anybody’s dollar. They solicit your patronage. Instructions in Christian Doctrine for high school students who are not attending Catholic high schools is on Monday evening at 6:30 o’clock. It is the responsibility of the parents to see to it that their children attend these instructions. As announced Sunday and the previous Sunday, instructions for grade pupils not attending St. Christopher school or other Catholic school are after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Sunday is the Feast of St. Therese, commonly known as the Little Flower of Jesus. On Sunday is celebrated the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Saturday, we celebrate the feast day of the Guardian October is the month of the Holy Rosary, and on Thursday of next week, we celebrate the feast. “My God, unite all minds in the truth and all hearts in charity.” Pray daily your Rosaries for peace in the world.
