PLEDGES FOR BUTLER SORORITIES * ________ Five Indianapolis students are among the eight at Butler University pledged by campus sororities, Butler’s Dean of Women and Panhellenic Association announced yesterday. MUNCIPAL GARDENS WOMEN’S CLUB “A Day in Court,” by Trooper Herman Klein—an illustrated lecture secured by our Social Service Department of the Municipal Gardens Wo m a n’s Department Club will be the highlight of the meeting April 12 in the Municipal Gardens Club House on Lafayette Road. Cancer sewing for the Little Red Door will start at 11:00 a.m. with Mrs. E. H. Schaub and Mrs. William Hawkes in charge. Carry-in luncheon at 12:00 noon .supervised by Mrs. J. C. Starr and Mrs. J. W. Walters. Pledge of Allegiance to the American and Christian Flags led by Mrs. Frank Lewis and Mrs. Bertha Lentz. Following the luncheon and preceding the program a short business meeting at which the Nominating Committee composed of Mrs. H. P. Willwerth, chairman; Mrs. Lloyd Pottenger, Mrs. Paul Hubble, Mrs. Donald Stroud and Mrs. E. C. Ball will report their ticket for the immediate election of officers. Women Of Butler Top Men Scholastically Butler University women students have topped the men scholastically for the third consecutive according the grade averages for the fall semester released today by the university registrar. Out of a possible 4-point avers age, the women averaged 2.4113 while the men Earned 2.1191. Breaking down the university average into the various colleges, the School of Religion ranked first with 2.87. Others in order are: Education, 2.70; Music, 2.59; R.0.T.C., 2.24; Pharmacy, 2.15; Liberal Arts and Sciences, 2.00, and Business Administration, 1.97. Leading the eight campus sororities was Kappa Kappa Gamma with a 2.67 chapter average. Second and third were Trianon, 2.58, and Pi Beta Phi, 2.54. Sigma Chi headed the men’s organizations with a 2.26 while the runners-up were Phi Delta Theta, 2.18, and Lambda Chi Alpha, 2.15.
“COFFEE DAYS” A Coffee Bar on wheels, parked on Monument Circle on April 13 will highlight the first of several “Coffee Days” sponsored by the Wheeler Restaurants of Indianapolis. Wheelers will donate the coffee to be served by nurses and bgross receipts will be turned over •to the Indianapolis Hospital Development Association for use in the current hospital construction program. In addition, the Wheeler Restaurant at Market and Pennsylvania Streets; the Drive-in Restaurant at 6801 East 38th Street; and Wheeler’s Buffet, 15 North Pennsylvania Street, will each send the gross proceeds from the sale of coffee on April 13 to the hospital group.
