Russell Paxton, Choral Director at the University of Michigan. The seniors of Speedway High School will present the 3-act comedy “Love Is In The Air” by Frank and Doris Hursley on April 2. Mr. David Burns is Director; Pat Slater and Phyllis Robbins are the Student Directors. Bob Howard and Bob Stierwalt are the Stage Managers. Ann Healey is the Business Manager and Pam Owings is in charge of Advertising. At the Athletic Dance last Friday night Miss Toni Malooley was crowned Queen and John Weddle was named King. The Blase Award for good sportsmanship was made to Carleton Toole and the Foul Shot Award was presented to Jack Roach.
In an overtime game last week the Seniors defeated the Juniors 21-19 to win the Girl’s Athletic Association basketball tourney.

LINDE AIR RECEIVES SAFETY AWARD Charles Ness, Superintendent of the Speedway Laboratory of Linde Air Products Company, announced today that the Speedway Laboratory has qualified to receive the National Safety Council’s Award of Honor in recognition of their perfect safety record. Linde Air Products Company is a Division of Union Carbide and Carbon Corporation. The Speedway Laboratory qualified for the award because of its injury-free period of 5,668,533 man-hours from January 1, 1930 to December 31, 1953. The Speedway Laboratory is concerned with better methods of generating and transporting acetylene and with developing processes utilizing acetylene. NOTICE Once again the Speedway Lions Club is giving its Annual High School Basketball banquet. Tickets are available at all Speedway Drug Stores.
