business to be considered by the trustees includes the election of officers, formation of governing bylaws, the naming of standing committee personal and the selection of an architect for the new $4,800,000 structure. Several weeks ago Dunigan, chairman of the East Side Committee, revealed that all qualified local architects registered with the Indiana State Board for Architects were invited to submit a summary of their qualifications, personnel, and hospital experience. Bradley emphasized that the new Community Hospital is a non-profit organization without stock. He said the board is to be of a non self-perpetuating variety with election of new directors to be held annually.
The new Community Hospital is but one of the several institutions that are to participate in the joint $12,000,000 fund raising campaign of the Indianapolis Hospital Development Association, Bradley said. The Hamilton Survey of local hospitals recommended the inclusion of Methodist Norways Foundation and St. Francis hospitals in the campaign to the total of 828 patient beds. Bradley explained that final details of the IHDA plan are now being worked out and will be made public shortly.
