Dave Wilson and Tom Myers each got 16 points for the Plugs and Quakers, respectively. Monrovia bested hard-fighting Mooresville in the second daylight contest 54 to 50 behind the 21 point effort of Bob Fisher. Speedway found Mooresville a different team from the one they beat 65 to 49, December 7, and barely nosed them out 48 to 43 behind Dave Wilson’s 15 point output. After trailing 11 to 9 at the first quarter and 27 to 18 at the intermission, Mooresville came to life in the third and fourth quarters to hold the Plugs to a 5 point victory. Dick Whitaker paced the losers with 13 points. Plainfield was surprised by a slow, deliberate Monrovia five in the first half of their championship game but Tom Myers again came to the rescue with a 19 point splurge to wrap up the trophy 50 to 34. Myers was top man in the tourney with 35 points, while Bob Fisher got 33 for Monrovia.
