Self-Employed Now Eligible for Old Age and Survivors Insurance Are you one of the millions of self-employed people newly covered under Federal old-age and survivors insurance? If you are, you need a social security accountnumber card, according to Harold O. Mountjoy, Manager of the Indianapolis social security office. “Self-employed people who are brought under the Social Security Act by last year’s changes in the law will report their net income from self-employment at the same time they make their Federal income tax returns early next year,” Mr. Mountjoy said. At that time, they will enter their social security numbers on the tax form, together with other information. - Mr. Mountjoy indicated that although the numbers will not actually be needed until early next year, self-employed businessmen should apply for them in the near future. This will help avoid any delay when the numbers are needed. “If you have ever had a social security number, that same number should be used,” Mr. Mountjoy said. “If you’ve lost your card, we can get a copy of it for you, bearing the same number.” Both new and duplicate cards can be obtained through your local social security office, where selfemployed people have any questions about their coverage under social security may secure it. The Indianapolis office is located at 36 South Pennsylvania Street.

META COUNCIL No. 103 HONORED A double honor was bestowed on Meta Council No. 103, Degree of Pocahontas when members of the Great Council of Indiana. D. of P. assembled for the 58th Great Council of their order, in the Assembly Hall of the Claypool Hotel.
