Final score: Speedway 48, Plainfield 55. The Sparkplugs were hitting on all cylinders from the start of the Monrovia game. With Speedway whipping, the ball around like a hot potato and Billy Toole collecting 13 points, the Sparkplugs arrived at a 30 to 16 halftime lead. The Sparkplugs kept right on firing throughout the second half —despite the loss of hard-driving Bill Toole on personal fouls—to win going away. Final score: Speedway 66, Monrovia 49.
