Mr. and Mrs. Chee Robbins and sons Larry and Bob spent the New Year holiday in Sarasota, Florida. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Robbins. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Pinkerton and daughter Carolyn had as their dinner guests Saturday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Frazier and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jones and family of West Newton. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Karsner of near Lebanon were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Norman and son Sunday. Rev. Kenneth E. Thome spoke at a quarterly meeting of the Blue River Baptist Assn, held at Waldron, Indiana. This group is composed of men from 16 Baptist churches in the Shelbyville and Columbus District. The bridegroom recently came to the United States after being in China for 15 years. Ushers were Howard and Robert Bland and George Miller. George Mercer was best man. A reception was held in the church parlors after the ceremony. For the wedding trip to Chicago, the bride chose teal blue gabardine with black accessories. They will be at home, 5066 West 14th Street after January 3. Mrs. Louis Bland, 4123 East 65th assisted by her daughter Roberta, entertained with a shower and tea on the afternoon of Dec. 11 and a buffet supper in the evening. Mrs. G. C. Mercer, 4965 West 16th street, assisted by her daughter, Mrs. S. E Allured of Oak Park, Illinois, gave a kitchen shower on December 23 and Mrs Eva Eaton, 1250 South High School road entertained with a buffet supper and linen shower on December 20. Tech Personality Clinic Tech High School Personality Clinic second semester registration will be held Jan. 16, 17, 18 and 19. Enrollment will be held in Tech Arsenal Building evening school office. No educational requirements are made for this adult workshop in personal development and adjustment. The fee is $2. Second semester classes will open Jan. 24. Sessions will be held on Tuesday nights, 7 to 9:30 o’clock, through April 26. Classes are conducted in the student center in Tech Treadwell Hall, 1500 E. These persons represent a wide variety of ages, educational backgrounds and business and professional skills. Their common interest is personal development and skill in satisfactory human relationships. The clinic is a workshop stressing psychology of every day successful living, effective speech and radio broadcasting, correct forceful English, salesmanship and business manners. Each individual participates in each meeting according to his needs and aspirations 1 x Spring Workshops A new session of Adult Classes and Workshops will begin at the Central YWCA, 329 North Pennsylvania Street, on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, Jan. 24 and 25 and will continue for 8 weeks. Included in the series will be Workshops in Millinery, and Art on Tuesday evenings; French, Spanish, Beginners Bridge and Bible Study classes on Tuesday evenings; Workshops in Silver and Coppercraft, Textile Painting, Leathercraft, Dressmaking, Ceramics and Art on Wednesday evenings; and a Bridge Class on Wednesday evenings. There will be a new Beginners Spanish Class on Thursday evenings beginning Jan. 26. A “Learn To Play Canasta” Class will begin on Wednesday evening, Jan. 25, and will continue for 4 weeks. All classes and workshops are open to any adult men and women who are interested. Registration will be the week of January 16 through the Jan. 21. Registration fee is payable at the time of registration. The YWCA is a Red Feather Service of the Indianapolis Community Fund.
