“Spring Classes Jan. 16 through the 21st is the registration week for the new eight weeks term in the Health Education Department of the Central YWCA, 329 North Penn, a Red Feather Service of the Community Fund. Special spring activities will include beginners classes in Square Dancing on Thursday nights and Goff and Tennis classes on Monday and Wednesday nights. Square Dancing is being added to the program this term because it’s proving to be such a popular co-ed activity. This is an opportunity to learn the fundamentals, calls and figures. Goff and tennis are being offered at this time to learn and brush up on the basic skills. Body conditioning exercises will be offered in the gym. Classes are on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. For the housewife, exercises are given on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Swimming classes will be held Monday through Thursday and are to include beginners I and H; Intermediates; Water Stunts; and a Pageantry Group. Plunge periods will be offered every evening and on Tuesday and Friday mornings. The “Ladies Day Out” program for mothers with children 3 to 6 years is scheduled for Thursday mornings. The program will include exercises, swimming, and a variety of crafts. For girls 10 to 15, classes in crafts, games and dancing and Beginning Swimming will be given on Saturday mornings. Advanced swimming classes are held on Saturday afternoon. Registration hours are from 11 am. to 8 pm. Monday through Fridays and Saturdays 9 am. to 2 p.m. Classes will begin Monday, Jan. 23.
