Miss Thelma Stout and Miss Agnes Spencer of the English Department, attended the Margaret Webster production of The Taming of the Shrew, a comedy by William Shakespeare, at the Murat Theater in Indianapolis. This troupe of players is a traveling company, patterned after the methods of stage companies of Shakespeare’s own times. The unique stage set and the ease with which stage scenery was changed in full view of the audience were features especially enjoyed by the Dramatics Club members who were present. Those attending were: Barbara Patterson and Betty Wicker, seniors; Sue Crumley, Carol Hertling, Maryann Lents, Rosemary Doran, and Jim Breen, juniors; Chris Stephens, Nancy Owings, Donna Graybill, Loretta Richards, Margaret Davidson, Darlene Siefers, Roberta Heiser, Barbara Morgan, Helen McClelland, Barbarba Kryter, and Sharon Houpt, sophomores; Diane Pleyte, Avis Belcher, Jan Cork, Deloris Beck and Robert Faris, freshmen. The assistance of Mr. Cledith Stephens, Mr. John McClelland, Miss Edith Spencer, and Miss Stout with the transportation problem was greatly appreciated by the English Department faculty.

Rosemeyer (B), and Barth Wheeler (D). Ulysses Rice was the only unanimous choice of all the coaches and can easily be considered the captain of this mythical all-con-ference team. Bill Rosemeyer carried off second honors in the voting as he was placed on the varsity squad by six of the seven mentors of the league. John Winters, the right guard of the championship Hawks, received 10 votes out of a maximum 14 to take third place honors in the voting.
Decatur Central Football Triumph Upheld The Indiana High School Athletic Association affirmed Decatur Central’s 14-to-7 football victory over Danville in a game played last month. The decision was reached Friday, November 25. The ruling assured Decatur Central of the Mid-State conference title.
