Speedway Drubs Plainfield 48 to 0 By drubbing the Plainfield Quakers 48 to 0, the Speedway Sparkplugs mended their wounds. The Plugs scored 34 points in the second quarter to set a new Mid-State Conference record. It was formerly held by Lawrence Central against Greenwood in 1945. Speedway also tied the record for most points in one half which is 34. This record is shared with Lawrence Central In the second quarter Dave Wilson and Dick Stumph got two touchdowns apiece. Bill Gross made one on a pass from Dave Wilson. Kuykendall tallied three extra pointers in the second period while Bud Hughes picked up one. In the third stanza fullback Tom Hanna scored the only touchdown of the quarter, Bill Toole collecting the extra point. Again in the fourth it was Tom Hanna scoring his second TD of the game. Dave Heberden accounted for the extra point. Since all six touchdowns were scored by sophomores, you have an idea of the Speedway football team of the; future.

Junior High C.Y.F. Mrs. Ray Griffin will review “The Tumbleweed Boy** at the Junior High Fellowship Hour on Sunday evening, Oct. 23, in the Junior Chapel.
