Speedway meets the Decatur Central High School football team Friday night in the Spark Plugs third Mid-State Conference game and their first game with a Marion County school. The game is scheduled at 8:00 .in Speedway’s new field. Gates will open at 7:15. Admission is 60 cents at the gate. Principal L. E. Thompson was elected president of the Mid-State Athletic Conference at a recent meeting of conference members. There are seven schools in the conference this year. Lawrence | Central having withdrawn. Con-! ference schools in addition tp Speedway are Brownsburg, Dan-' ville, Decatur Central, Greenwood, Mooresville, and Plain-, field. Two students from Canterbury College are taking student teaching in Speedway high school the first semester. Mr. Floyd Heller is working with Mr. Sallee and Mr. Joseph Tomes with Mr. Weller. . r Several new students have enrolled during the past week. The total enrollment at the present time is 909.

The Sixth Grade has an exhibit on Man Through the Ages in the display case in the Elementary Building. The clay figures, stone tools and present day steel tools are contributed by the pupils. On Monday, October 10, Speedway will be host for the Marion County District Hi-Y Conference. Meetings will be held in the high school gym and in classrooms starting at 3:00 in the afternoon. Mr. Louis Trosky is sponsor of the Speedway Hi-Y Club.
