St. Christopher’s Catholic Church Rev. L A Lindemann—Pastor Sunday Masses: 'i-.00 o clock Weekday Masses 7:00 o’clock The last Sunday of the month is the regular Communion Sunday for the children of St. Christopher. They will receive at the 8:30 o’clock Mass. The time of the daily Mass has been changed from 7 o’clock to 6:30, temporarily. Holy Communion will be given from 6:00 until 8:00, as in the past, to anyone who wishes to receive. Also confessions will be heard. Lest we forget, we repeat, this is Ember Week and Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday are days of fast and abstinence. Did you ever wonder what the four young ladies of St. Christopher who' graduated from St. Agnes are doing this winter? Barbara Ellerman will serve you if you should go shopping in her department at Chas. Mayer. Martha Rosner is in training at St Vincent. Elizabeth Ann Meyer is attending Marian College. And, Mary Joan Cohen is “going after” her Master in Music’ at Indiana University. They all seem very happy in their different fields. St Christopher school began at 8:15 Monday morning, and while no doubt there are a great many adjustments yet to be made, with a little patience all the “kinks” will soon be ironed out, and a few years from now we will have forgotten all about the hard and difficult days and be mighty proud of our wonderful school. The annual public Novena at Little Flower Church on Bosart in Indianapolis will begin Sunday, September 25th. Not many of us can attend these services, but surely many of us can say the daily Novena prayers privately. We have for many years had a great love for this Saint, St. Theresa of the Little Flower of Jesus, always feeling so close to her, remembering she actually lived and died during our own lifetime. Out at St Patrick’s —950 Prospect Street —this coming Sunday, the Holy Name Society will have their second annual home-coming. There will be plenty of food, served from noon on: all kind of games for grown-ups, as well as children: and, many valuable and worthwhile prizes given away to some lucky person or lucky persons about 10 o’clock. We understand that dinners will not be served, but we were assured that they will see that no one leaves hungry. Why don’t we all go out sometime Sunday afternoon? First Saturday will be next Saturday, October Ist—a day on which we can show our love aria devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by receiving Holy Communion and attending Holy Mass if at all possible. The first party in the Social Room of St. Christopher’s new school will be on Thursday night, October 13th at 8 o’clock. It will be- a Style Show and Card Party—all games to be played. The committee will begin circulating the tickets within the next few days. But if you do not have a ticket, remember you can always pay at ttnrHobr. The committee in charge of this party are Betty Meyer, chairman, Helen Riedy, co-chair-man, assisted by Doris Atkinson, Lillian Long, Cordelia Swails, Emma Frances O’Neal, Carolyn O’Neal, Ann Martich, Dorothy Unnewehr, Kathryn Enlow, Florence Goldey, Ruth Aharen, Sue Whitmore, Dolores Rolles, Pauline Nester, Melvina Haboush, Helen Ellerman, Christine Bostwick, Mrs. John Butier, Eieanor Chapman, Helen Sutherland, Hildp Torella, Yvonne Smith, Beatrice Breen, Louise Grande, Bertha Cohen and Agnes Shook. Oh, we almost forgot to tell you that the lucky lady in the Merchandise Club last Sunday was Mrs. Margaret Kinley, one of Joe Vollmer’s daughters, of 770 N. Pershing. She too chose a Bissell sweeper. We understand that she owes her good luck to little Ginny Atkinson. “Just deeds are the best answer to injurious words.” —Milton. Nora Bray.
