St. Christopher’s Catholic Church Rev. I* A. Lindemann .Pastor ' Sunday Masses: 6:00 o’clock Weekday Masses 7:00 o’clock At the 8:30 o’clock Mass next Sunday, the members of the Altar Society and all the ladies of the Parish will receive Holy Communion. Palms will be blessed and distributed next Sunday before the 10 o’clock High Mass. After the Mass, blessed palms will be placed on tables at the rear of the church, so that anyone who did not get a palm at Mass may have one. The Gospel read on Palm Sunday is according to St. Matthew Chapters 26 and 27 . . . The Passion and Death of Jesus. Next week is Holy Week. Daily Masses will be at 7 o’clock, unless otherwise announced. Wednesday is not a day of abstinence. Saturday, Holy Saturday, is a day of abstinence until after 12 noon. However, meat can be taken only once on Wednesday. No Holy Communions are given on Friday, Good Friday. Services on Holy Saturday will begin quite early, followed by Mass at about 7:30. There will be evening services at 7:30 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. All fasting ceases at 12 noon on Holy Saturday. Mrs. Catherine Enlow of 1729 Norfolk St. was the lucky member of the Merchandise Club last week. She chose a Purrey blanket in the summer sea shade. Little Miss Sarah Jane Stamm did the honors. Your prayers are requested for the soul of Thomas Keogh who was buried from St. Christopher on Monday morning of this week. St. Christopher suffered the loss of one of its pillars in the death of Mr. Keogh. It was partly through his influence and acquaintances that the sale of the present site of St. Christopher was finally made. His smiling face, and in later months his tottering footsteps, are going to be missed by all who knew\ him. May his soul rest in peace. ‘ Congratulations to Grandpa Hank Rosner, to Papa Harry Parker, and all the family. Mary Rosper Parker presented her husband with a little baby girl on Monday. They told us that both mother and babe were doing fine. And we would lika to add our congratulations to Grandma Mazie Bender and the rest of the family, even though we are a week late. Donna Etter Webb and her boy left the hospital last Sunday for a visit with Benders. Of course Papa Webb is visiting with the Benders too. “. . . . Whatever thou shalt ask of God, God will give it to thee.” —St. John 11:22 . . . remembering always that God gives us what He knows best that we should have. Nora Bray.

There is a searching, present-day revelance to the question in the Palm Sunday lesson, “Who is this?” Curious and indifferent people would have asked it. Some among the multitude had an answer, “This is Jesus, the Prophet” Others added, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” The first Palm Sunday testimony was not a complete reply. The multitude that day was living on the other side of Gethsemane and Calvary and Joseph’s garden. We live on this side. When our generation whispers or shouts “Who is this?” we know a fuller answer Here is our Palm Sunday testimony, “This is Jesus the Christ my Lord and my God!” THE HOLY COMMUNION will be celebrated on Palm /Sunday at the 10:45 a. m. service.
