Open House At Central YMCA. Open house at the Central Y. M. CL A., 310 N. Illinois street on Feb. 12 will be the opening activity in the city wide Y. M. C. A. membership campaign which will be held from Feb. 21 to Mar. 7. An all day program is being planned beginning at 9:00 a. m. and closing at midnight. shooting match by the boys* rifle team. Harold Schuman is chairman of the open house general committee. Other members are Ralph Swingley, Arthur’Williams, Sherwood Blue, John Wilson, William E. Kuebler and George C. Mercer. The boys* program will demonstrate the boys’ work in craft, archery, riflery, swimming and gymnastics. Rev. John Kirkpatrick of the Mount Olive Methodist Church will conduct the boys* story hour at 11:30 a. m. and the morning program win conclude with moving pictures and an illustrated Jecture by Prof. Arthur L. Haddon, professor of history at the University of New Zealand. Exhibits win be displayed of craft work, emblems, awards, trophies and pictures of YM.C.A. activities. . ♦ Conducted tours of the building wiH be made at regular intervals and the grille win be open until 7 p. m.

“Heart Hop z The Tuk-A-Pache Teen-Age Club of the Central Y.W.C.A. has completed its plans for a “Heart Hop” formal dance. This affair is to be held Saturday evening, Feb. 12 from $-12 o’clock, in Hollenbeck HaH, in the Y.W.C.A., with Johnny Kaser’s orchestra furnishing the music. American The National Broadcasting Company will present a quarter-hour nationwide broadcast under the American Legion auspices on Lincoln’s' birthday anniversary, Saturday, Feb. 12, 1949. The program will be a direct pickup from Lincoln’s tomb, the “Arlington of the West,” in Springfield, Illinois, and a part of the ceremonies conducted by the Legion during the Illinois Department’s 15th annual Lincoln Day Pilgrimage will be aired by NBC from 11:15 to 11:30 ALM., CST. Heard on the broadcast portion of the program will be addresses by Perry Brown, National Commander of the American Legion, Governor Adlai E. Stevenson of Illinois and Mrs. Hubert A.
