The Elementary Safety Council, under the direction of Mr. McClelland, held their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Dec. 2. Topics discussed were: fire prevention, especially in the use and care of Christmas trees and decorations; proper use of sleds and skates during the winter season; and safety sense in snow-balling.

PLUGS SCALP REDSKINS The Manual Redskins were swamped by the Spark Plugs last Friday night, '45 to 28. It was Manual's second straight loss to county foes this year as Lawrence Central whipped them in the opener, 45 to 19. The Plugs drove into a 12 to 3 first quarter lead as everyone on the team scored. The Red Skins outscored the Plugs the second quarter as the Plugs led at the half 20 to 12. High point of the game went to one of Manual's forwards, Max Calderon, as he hit seven field goals and one free throw for 15 points. Speedway’s scoring honors went again to Al Wiechers with 11 points. Konny King and Ray Stewart were close behind as they compiled 10 points each.

Mooresville entertains Speedway tonight as the Plugs will attempt to win their third straight conference win. Mooresville is the defending conference champs, “the Hanging of the Greens” The “Hanging of the Greens,” traditional Christmas event, will be held at the Young Women's Christian Association, Central Branch, 329 N. Pensylvania St, Sunday, Dec. 12 from 3 to fl p. m. The program begins at 3 p. m. with everyone participating in the decoration of the building. After which a Christmas pageant is presented, carols are sung and refreshments served. Mrs. Leroy Miller is chairman of the Planning Committee, and members of her committee include Rosabelle Fox of the Business Girls Club; Don Alexander, 329 Club; Marion Wilkin, Blue Triangle Residence; Betty Maple, Tuk-a-Pache Club; Frieda Mueller and Melva Burkmeyer of the Thursday Club, and Ardith Garau representing the Fourth Floor Residence of the Y.W.CA. Decorations are being made by the Y-Teen Clubs. The Invitation and Program Committee includes Corinne Franchere, Winifred Wesson and Wanita Chester. Miss Chester designed the cover for the program. •Everyone is welcome to attend and to bring their friends. The Y.W.C.A, is a Red Feather Service of the Community Fund.
