The Inquiring, I Telephone ~ Reporter

...In which Indiana Bell asks a timely question of telephone users picked at random TODAY'S QUESTION: “On a party line, do you allow time between calls when making several in a row?”

Charlee Robertson, Welder, 746 S. Maia Street, South Bend. “I always wait a little to give the other fellow a chance. What's more 1 don’t jiggle the receiver up ana down if the

J

other fellow gets in between my calls. Courtesy is nowhere more appreciated than over the phone.”

Mr*. J. Mitchell, Housewife, 2509 Pearl Street, Anderson. “1 always try to wait between calls. That’s because I’ve found out from my own experience how it is when

jRL

I need the phone and someone else on the party line is using it fora long time.”

JQm

Paul D. Kriae, Salesman. 327 W. 15th Street. Auburn. “Yes, I always allow time between calls because I may need to use the phone sometime when someone else is talking.

This is why I never hog the line.”

Mrs. Lowell E. Brower, Housewife, 402 North New Jersey Street, Indianapolis. “Yes, I think it is a good idea to give others, a chance to use the phone rather than to

HI

use a party Gne for consecutive calls. Ordinarily, I can wait between each call when getting a few friends together for an evening and do other things and not upset my schedule a bit.”

s-fel- IBs s

Daniel E. Stevens, Truck Driver. R. R. /2, Newburg. “Why,> yes, everybody ought to. I always wait a little bit to see if there’s anyone else wants to get a call through before I make

another telephone call right away.”

Little courtesies... like releasing the line in emergencies... keeping calls brief... allowing time between calls . ..all these help to make friends of your party line neighbors. On the
