largely of Wagnerian music, appropriate to the Easter season, including the “Good Friday Spell” from “Parsifal” Soloists at the week end concerts will be two Metropolitan opera Wagnerian stars: Regina Resnik, soprano and Set Svanholm, tenor, both making their first appearance in Indianapolis. They will sing , two duets: that of Tristan and'lsolde from Act n of the opera of the same name, and the Kundry-Parsifal duet from Act II of “Parsifal” Miss Resnik will also sing Isolde’s “Love Death.” Orchestral excerpts from the two operas, chosen by Fabien Sevitzky, conductor, include the Prelude to Act I and the Introductions to Acts.ll and 111 from “Tristan” and the Prelude to Act I, the Introduction to Act II and the Introduction and Finale to Act 111 from “Tristan.” Dr. Sevitzky will also conduct Rimsky-Korsakov’s jubilant “Easter Overture” to close the concerts, which will be played at 8:30 p. m., March 27 and 3 p. m., March 28. At 7:30 p. m., Friday and 8:30 p. m., Saturday, April 2 and 3, Dr. Sevitzky will conduct the season’s closing pair of concerts. Opening with the premiere performance of “La Citta Perduta” by the contemporary Italian composer Guido Guerrini, he will present a little-known but highly important orchestral-choral work by Robert Schumann: Manfred, a tone poem written around Byron’s poem of the same name. The Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, whose conductor is Elmer A. Stef-fen,-will be heard in “Mansfred,” together with a number of vocal soloists, of whom Julius Huehn, bass-baritone and Rosalind Nadell, contralto, will sing the leading roles. Reservations for all remaining concerts may be obtained at the orchestra’s offices in the Murat theater.
