Annual Cookie Sale Orders Now Being Solicited by Girl Scouts; Goal is 85*000 Boxes "COOKIE SALES MAKE NEW CAMP TRAILS" IS SLOGAN OF THIS YEAR'S SALE; PROCEEDS WILL IMPROVE AND ENLARGE FACILITIES FOR CAMPING ANP ACTIVITIES

“On my honor, / will try; To do my duty to God and my country, To half other feofle at all timet, To obey the Girl Scout Laws.? • a* This is the Girl Scout pledge that every beginning Scout takes. The official Girl Scout is a symbol of this promise, each leaf of the trefoil, or three-leaf design, standing lor one of the promises. March 12 marks the thirty-sixth birthday of the Girl Scout organization. Since the beginning of this great organization, America has seen the Girl Scout principles of understanding and service develop and prosper, building a firm foundation of comradeship and friendliness throughout our world. Over five thousand girls in Indianapolis and Marion County are members of Girl Scout troops, and their adult leaders and supervisors number almost sixteen hundred. Through their summer camp program, Girl Scouts further their high ideals of loyalty, resourcefulness and good will. Funds which make possible more and better camping are raised each year in March through the annual cookie sale. Girl Scouts from all over Marion County are now busily soliciting cookie orders, and their goal is 85,000 boxes. There is a “new look” to the cookies this year—a creme filled vanilla and chocolate sandwich wafer in an attractive package in the Girl Scout colors.
