Red Cross Starts Opening Phases Of Annual Drive Thirty-Day Campaign For Funds Approximately 3,000 citizens will combine their efforts during the next thirty days to raise $396,000 in Marion county for the American Red Cross. Three of the many reasons which make it imperative that the Red Cross receive generous support, according to Harlan J. Hadley, general chairman, are art intensive program of assistance to the service man, disasters of almost unprecedented proportions which wiped out the Red Cross disaster relief funds in 1947, and a civilian blood donor program which will include Indianapolis as a center. Industrial, commercial, public service, governmental and educational divisions have started the opening phases of their drives. Divisions which will go into action later are residential, downtown, towns and townships, clubs and organizations, advance gifts and professional.
