Pension Fund Concert
Illustrating the loyalty of “show people” to each other, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, headliners in the entertainment world, are donating their services for the Indianapolis Symphony orchestra’s first Pension Fund concert in the Murat Thursday, Jan. 29. - Both men will appear as soloists under Fabien Sevitzky’s direction —Tommy is a famous “slip, horn” (trombone) artist and Jimmy a virtuoso saxophone player—and both will conduct the orchestra in several numbers. The concert, to be built generally upon vaudeville lines, will have as its backbone the popular tunes on which the “Fabulous Dorseys” rose to fame, with a sprinkling of the light-classical music for which Dr. Sevitzky is famous. There will be plenty of dialogue among the three leaders with an each-man-for-himself and anyone - take - the-hindmost attitude. The actual program will not be worked out until the Dorseys aVrive the day beiore the concert, but the fortunate 2,000 people who managed to get seats for the now famous Waring-Sevitzky concert last year seem to be.willing to buy a “pig in a poke”; seats for the Jan; 29 concert are selling rapidly at the overall price of $3, tax included. x The orchestra members and Dr. Sevitzky are also donating their services, so that complete proceeds from the concert may be deposited to start a pension fund for Indianapolis Symphony orchestra musicians. Reserved seats for the concert may be obtained at the orchestra’s office in the Murat, Ri. 9596, and in Wasson’s record department.

We have spent many enjoyable days on Mr. Beelers farm and would recommend to anyone interested in seeing things grow to visit Mr. Beeler and see how the experts do it. WHY WE SAY luiwou \*HIS X I Those who cannot write, sign with an “X” or crossmark because of a pious custom begun by the early Saxons. They placed a cross after all signatures as a symbol of good faith, a sort of oath on the Cross. The illiterate used only the “X”. >
