• -~T Grotto Auxiliary Plans Luncheon And Homecoming First Stated Meeting Also In September The homecoming and past presidents’ party will be held at the Grotto Clubhouse, 4107 E. Washington street, Thursday, September 11 at 12:30 o’clock. Mrs. Clayton Ridge will review “The Silver Nutmeg.” The stated meeting of the auxiliary will be held Wednesday, September 17. Entertainment has been planned.

Annual Reunion To Be Held At Sunnyside Sunnyside Sanatorium will hold its annual reunion on the hospital, grounds Saturday, Sept. 6 from, 3:30 to 8:00 p. m. No reunions were held during the war years. Dr. F. L. Jennings, Medical Director, announces that Gene Robinson and his orchestra, known as the “Band with the Beat,” under sponsorship of American Federation of Musicians, will entertain Sunnyside and their guests. All former patients ace invited to attend this reunion. The Outpatient Department is receiving reservations from ex-patients for the picnic lunch which will be served on the hospital lawn at 5:30 p. m. Arrangements for the reunion is in charge of the Homecoming Committee; Robert Parke, chairman. Mr. Parke states that special buses will leave the bus station at 2:40 p. m. on Saturday to bring the guests to the sanitorium.

Clarification Note On Terminal Leave Payment The W& and Navy Departments again urge all veterans who have not yet filed for their Terminal Leave Pay to do so at once, even though the deadline for this benefit has been extended until September 1, 1948. Veterans who file now have the option of requesting either bonds or a check. Application is to be made on the form “Claim for Settlement—Unused Leave” (obtainable at nearest County Veterans’ Affairs office or Postoffice);- and those who desire cash rather than bonds should mark clearly in the margin of this application form, “Check payment desired.” The Treasury Department has announced, too, that Terminal Leave Bonds may be cashed on or after September 2, 1947, at any bank authorized to cash U. S. Government Savings Bonds. Adequate identification (discharge papers, a photostatic copy thereof, of a certificate in lieu of lost discharge papers) is required. Duplicates of lost or destroyed Terminal Leave Bonds are accorded the same treatment as duplicates of other lost or destroyed Government Savings Bends.
